Looking ahead...what's on tap for Tufts Democrats, 2009-2010

Hey, everyone!

I hope you have all had an enjoyable and relaxing summer, but it's almost time to go back to school. We have a lot to look forward to this semester. First of all, just because it's an off-year on the national campaign front, doesn't mean there isn't plenty of local election excitement! There will be plenty of opportunities to get involved in local elections, right here in Somerville as well as Cambridge and the Greater Boston area. We'll also be continuing to work on voter registration in MA in advance of the November elections. Additionally, our annual Issues of the Future symposium will take place in December, and involve two days of speakers and panels. More information on the symposium will become available at the beginning of September. There will also be social events around campus, and a fundraiser breakfast during Parents' Weekend, so stay tuned for details!

In the meantime, here are the first few important dates to keep in mind:

Monday, September 14, 5:00-7:00 PM- Tufts annual student activities fair will take place on the ResQuad! We'll be there to talk to freshmen about the club and upcoming activities...of course, you don't have to be a freshman to come and say hi.

Tuesday, September 22, 9:00-10:00 PM- Our General Interest Meeting, in Eaton 206! We'll be running through a preview of the year's activities, holding elections for freshman representatives, and perhaps there will even be some food as well...

Enjoy the rest of the summer, and we'll see you in September!
