Tufts Dems- Mid-semester update and upcoming events!
Hey Dems!
So we're five weeks into the semester. So far we have debated the Tufts Republicans on healthcare reform, made weekly appearances on Teddy Minch's WMFO show "The Rundown" to talk about current political issues, hosted United States Senate Candidate Alan Khazei on campus, volunteered for Rebekah Gewirtz's re-election campaign for Somerville Ward 6 Alderman, and are now holding voter registration drives! Active students groups have been set up in support of Martha Coakley, Michael Capuano, and Alan Khazei, and they have been helping with petition drives and making phone calls. It's been a busy time, but we're just starting up! Our biggest events are in the planning stages, and now's a great time to get involved. Here's what's ahead:

INTO THE FUTURE:
The Forum, our magazine of Democratic Politics, is back! We need help with all stages of production, from writing to layout to editing. Contact Ryan (ryan [dot] long [at] tufts [dot] edu) if you're interested. More details about a separate Forum meeting forthcoming.
Our first debate vs. the Republicans was so successful, we're planning another for November- topic and date TBA, but we're thinking foreign policy.
Our Issues of the Future Symposium will take place in February, and focuses on education reform. We're assembling speakers and panels now, and could use some help with the planning. Contact Nick (nkburns3 [at] gmail [dot] com)
Keep it liberal,
Andrea
